You should be able to tell your story better than anyone. When people meet you, it is important to be able to tell them who you are what your story is.
In this assignment, write a 150-200 word short essay about your story. Who are you? What are your academic and career goals? What have you done to achieve those goals? What inspires you? What made you want to participate in the Black GIrls Don't Get Love Screenwriting Workshop?

Using the skills you have learned so far throughout the workshop, pick one of your three story concepts and write out an outline for your 7-10 page script.
In the same document, write out a one-sentence logline that summarizes your entire story.

Throughout the workshop you will be writing your script act by act. By the end of the third week, submit your completely compiled script made up of all of your acts for revision.

Class will be in the library from 3 PM - 5 PM unless otherwise stated via email announcement.

If you are not receiving emails when instructors say they sent them to you, try using a different email. Sometimes school emails block out-of-network emails.
If that does not work, have your parent/guardian message an instructor on your behalf.

Every student must do the initial survey. However, only the students in attendance of each workshop takes the workshop-specific surveys.
After the pitch event, every student must take the OVERALL survey go we get an understanding of what you learned.

The Pitch Event occurs at the end of the program where you will pitch your script to a panel of media judges for a chance to win a monetary prize.
Your pitch will be a minute long. You must also be prepared to answer up to 2 minutes of questions from the judges.
The event will be held on October 12, 2024
The Pitch Event is REQUIRED to attend by every trainee. If this date is an issue for you, please let an instructor know as soon as possible.
